Looks like it took a flip, which SHOULD be the only explanation why the windshield caved in like that.

The end result is not good for the vehicle, or most importantly the individuals in the vehicle.
I don't know why all those ropes are on the driver door. Probably to keep the door hinged in during transport.

If he somehow kept his head back while the car was caving in, he probably walked away with some injuries. It apears that the cockpit is not completely crushed.
I think he probably servived with some leg and neck injuries.
Just my opinion though.

There is blood on the driver's side sun visor, so there was head trauma to some extent.
