These pics are old... and there will be no 4-Series as the 3 name carries too much value to be diverted. The 3-Coupe will stay with the 3 name.

That's the way the new 3 should've looked like though. The new theme is much better executed all-around, especially in the rear.

Hood lines look funny.
Not a bad looking car but it's just a mini 6-series.

I was about to say... I think the entire point of the 4 series was to make a coupe based off the sedan much like how the 6 is off the 5.

I don't think BMW will change the coupe to the 4 series. I think they're keeping a 3 coupe and adding the 4 to the lineup. The 4 here seems a little bit longer, maybe more powerful?

Are these actual pictures or photoshops? I actually don't mind the new 3 series sedan at all, but would choose the IS350 over it in a second. However, I'm a coupe fan at heart and I aways had a feeling the coupe version would look really nice. I would say from these pictures it would be a tough choice for me between the IS350 and the new 3 series coupe. No doub though the interior of the IS is probably better since the BMW coupe probably would be the same as the sedan. Still though, I like the new 3 coupe. With the bump in HP, availability of a 6-Speed manual and real SMG trans, it makes for a serious package. Man, I can just imagine what the M3 will look like

Like mentioned above, the plan was to introduce the coupe as a 4 series, but after BMW reserached it or thought about it they decided not to mess with the name recognition of the 3 series. The problem would also have been they potentially would loose the M3 name, or if they brought out an M3 sedan and coupe again they would have to call one M3 and one M4. Just too confusing. I don't think they will create a new 4 series line altogether either. They already have the 1 series, and the 3 series fits perfectly between that and the 5. A 4 series would just not fit since a loaded 330 can already cost more than a stripped down 525.

Just wait until the IS comes out with a coupe/convertible variant

Do you think they even will come out with one? Convertable I can see but I don't care for convertables, but coupe? I think it would be great, but I'm not sure I believe it just yet.
