Ford and P.Diddy plot pimped-out Range Rover
A “P. Diddy” edition of the Range Rover? Frankly, we’d rather suck diarrhea through a farmer’s sock than drive any car that had been disfigured by such a cynical association, much less the tasteful, discreet Rangie. If the Car Connection’s report is to be believed (and the fact that Ford made an abortive attempt to get Mr. Sean Combs onboard for a similarly P-Diddied Lincoln Navigator lends worrying weight to the story), the car is no doubt intended for the US market. But even in America, can there really be a queue of buyers waiting to offload at least $75,000 on such piddle. If there are, we really don’t want to know.

A Diddy Range Rover?
Ford sources have confirmed that discussions have taken place between Land Rover and representatives of hip-hop star/business mogul P. Diddy to co-develop a P. Diddy edition of the Range Rover.
Ford has been down this road before with P. Diddy. In 2003, the automaker announced a deal to develop a P. Diddy Lincoln Navigator. The rapper was to influence the design of a tricked-out Navigator that would be co-promoted by Diddy in videos, a film and in his store. The deal fell apart, say Ford sources, over money issues.
But Diddy, who was in a Lincoln Navigator sport-utility vehicle that tried to evade police after a 1999 New York nightclub shooting, also likes Range Rovers, owns at least one and has mentioned the brand in his music. Terms of a deal being discussed with Land Rover weren't disclosed.
Diddy recently announced a line of wheel designs for oversized wheels, a deal he's done with Weld Wheel Industries to bring "Sean John Wheels" to market. -Jim Burt

This is not a move I'd support if I called the shots at Land Rover.
Sure there ought to be exclusivity and an outrageous flare that should come with a vehicle marketed this way - but Land Rover's image is one that is neither outrageous nor all that exclusive - especially since the launch of the rather spurious Freelander. And creating this dump-truck wouldn't get them any closer.

Oh, yeah! ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Now that every wannabee rapper will have a Land Rover written into his short-lived contract, it may take the sales pressure off of P. Diddy's current ride . . .
