Hyundai Sonata looks very nice
A real threat to the Camry and Accord dynasties?
What do you think?

I like this car quite a lot. I don't know how afraid Toyota and Honda should be (they should definitely be paying attention though), but makers of the Altima should watch out as should all the domestics.
If their new engines can live up to the hype, it'll be big business.
Not to derail the thread, but Hyundai has pretty much confirmed a RWD sports car before the end of the decade. They definitely have my respect as a company.

No so much a threat yet, but as others have said, Toyota and Honda better pay attention.
If it was between the Camry and Sonota, I would go with the Camry. But it would be a TOUGH decision.

i dont think i will pick Sonata over Camry or Accord, personally. but it's definitely a HUGE threat to FORD and Chevy. Hyundai and Kia are the last thing the dosmetice manufacturers need after Toyota and Honda.
IMO, it has resemblance of the honda accord from the back and audi A6 from the side and TSX from the front. good looking car.

I just priced out a Sonata LX w/ the upgrade package - MSRP is under $25,000. For a V6 Camry w/ leather and comparable equipment, you'd be looking at a sticker price of almost (if not above) $30,000 ...
I could EASILY forgive whatever margin might (b/c I personally think the Camry blows) exist between Hyundai's quality and Toyota's for $5,000 extra cash after the purchase ... especially for a daily driver.

Their production values are constantly improving with each generation. So long as Hyundai remains focused and listens...it is only a matter of time. Each year I see more and more of them on the roads, as for longevity that remains to be seen. Their push will motivate others so long as certain manufactuers don't think they are immune.
