Default C&D Avalon wins comparo vs Ford 500 and Chrysler 300

There is nothing online yet and I have yet to read it for myself but this is the info I got. Also, I heard the Avalon got a 0-60mph run of 6 SECONDS FLAT!!

Wow, that's ~ one sec. faster than the GS300 Good win Istill prefer the exterior of the Chrysler 300, but with it's crappy interior, the Avalon wins hands down.

Cool

It's no contest that the Avalon was the best car of the group!

1SICK, please post the article once it hit's the net.

If memory serves, the previous gen Avalon came in last in a test of the Chrysler 300, Ford Five Hundred & Buick Lacrosse a short time ago.........looks like Toyota put them on their ear this time!

If the 280hp non direct injection 2GR-FE in the Avalon is an indicator of a 6.0 sec 0-60 powerhouse, imagine what the IS350 will be with 300+.

I don't think ES350 will get as high hp & torque as the IS350 Maybe the same 280hp as the Avalon, I see you still prefer the FWD's eh ?

I haven't seen the article yet either....probably will by Monday. I've previously looked at and and driven all three cars myself...though probably not as hard as C&D did. I've also written up all three so I won't rehash that again here, but in some ways the Avalon is indeed the best. It has the highest build quality of the three, the smoothest and most refined powertrain, and the FWD layout is good for general all-around use if you don't want or need the max in dry-weather handling. The 300C is clearly the car to show off in, inside and out...it has more glitter than Liberace's piano outfit, but the trim and hardware quality under that glitter IMO was poor. The Hemi also uses a lot of gas in stop-and-go driving. The 500, IMO, is clearly an underrated car (though I know there are those who disagree with me) and is probably the best car of the three for soccer-moms and general grocery-running, with the tallest roof and best layout for ingress / egress and a seamless Volvo-based Haldex AWD option for bad weather. The engine is small for this size car but the efficient CVT transmission compensates for this somewhat.
Maybe I'm just being TOO picky, or it's just me....but I was not really impressed with any of these 3 interiors. The Avalon's was cheap-looking IMO. The orange plastic wood trim was awful, and cheap plastic with the center-dash controls were quirky. The 300C was mostly cheap plastic with a lot of glitter, and the 500 had decent-looking plastic-wood trim inside and a smart control and gauge layout but otherwise was a lot like the 300 with a lot of substandard cheap plastic.

The more I see of the car world the more I am convinced that in the under-$100,000 class Lexus. Audi, and Jaguar are the kings for interior quality....no one else even comes close.

Really? I spend most of the time with my car, actually driving.

I occasionally just sit in my car and enjoy it after a long day of work or a long drive.....

The Es 350 will have to have more (albeit slightly more) HP & Torque then the Avalon

My first choice is full time AWD, the FWD as my choices.........RWD is not & will never be on my list. Driven them in the past with snow's, weight in the trunk etc etc etc. If I lived in the southern U.S. that might be a different story.

Vancouver is actually not bad for RWD, & not quite as hot as the Southern US in the Summer
