2005 Taste of Luxury tour??
Hey all,
Does anyone know if Lexus is going to host the Taste of Luxury tour this year? I went last year at Dodger Stadium in June or July and it was AWESOME!!! I haven't heard anything about it for this year. I certainly hope Lexus will do this again because it puts all other driving events to shame!!
Thanks,
Andrew

I was also at the Dodger Stadium Taste of Luxury, and I really liked the food, the testing area, the touchscreens in the exhibit room, the waiting area....ah, and the gift which we still have.
Edit: but nothing to do with the rumored IS preview right?

I completely agree enigma354. This event blew away all other ones I've been to - BMW's Ultimate Drive, the Mercedes events, Cadillac, etc. Lexus got the event right by having enough cars available so that the wait lines were tolerable. At MB, you could easily be there 2 hours and drive 2 cars if you were lucky.
Awww man, Lexus has got to put this event on again! =P

My guess is they're gonna wait until the arrival of the new IS before putting up another driving event. There's no point of hosting another event without both of their sporty cars ready for testdrives.
The last tour was great and all but if you were there and noticed the trend you'd see that people formed much longer lines waiting for MB's and BMW's than for Lexus's. Lexus simply had no worthy driver's car at the time, so they'd better make sure in the next event they will.

That said, I think that in the future when the New GS and the New IS are included, it'll be even better!

The only Lexus which I remember was not as big on the dirvers was the ES. Otherwise all the other Lexus cars were pretty hot.
I remember there was nobody test-driving the GS300 at all when I got there (the staff parked it alongside the ES to avoid blocking the course ), and there were at most 2 to 3 people waiting for the GS430 and the IS300. Only the LS430 and the SUVs gathered good interests.
Anyway, all will change soon enough.
