Hmm...wonder how much accuracy there is in this 390hp figure this time.
BTW, what Lexus car is that sketch in the background on the right? Looks like the new LS to me. Not bad for a L-finesse'd LS design.

Looking at the cover again, I noticed the headline with a SCOOP in it says "New Celsior (Lexus LS) all understood". So the sketch is meant to be an LS alright. Would've been nice to know the detail of their "scoop" though.

I'll believe a new Supra is on the way when I see the production model and when "Toyota" says they are building it and it is coming out on this certain date. I used to get excited when seeing all these new Supra or high performance Lexus GT rumors but they always just turned out to be rumors. With the concept and testing of the LFA we are closer to a Lexus GT but it is still not definite they are going into production. Those Japanese magazines are fun to look at but they are usaully very inaccurate in their information and sketches. There was a write up in the last Road and Track that showed a totally different looking new supra sketch that said the car will most likely get a v-8. A v-8 seems the way to go since they dropped the great inline six that the Supra was famous for. V-6 are usaully not the best motors to heavily turbocharge and a NA v-6 would seem like a step down and dissapoint many enthusiasts even if it did produce 300+ horsepower. A v-8 will make the Supra more of a competitor to a Corvette, Ferrari F430, 911S, Skyline GTR, and M3 and less of a competitor to a Mitsubishi Eclipse, Porsche Boxster, Audi TT, Chrysler Crossfire like the 350Z and RX-8 are. A v-8 Supra would also be the first relatively affordable Japanese high performance v-8 sports car which would create alot of buzz and spark enthusiasts interest which Toyota needs. I hope the rumor is true but we have seen several rumors that did pan out ever since 1998 when they stopped selling the Supra here.

Hmmmm, I have read/heard the Supra will have 2 models again. The last Supra had the N/A version with 220hp and the TT version with 320hp (see how the IS250/350 difference in HP doesn't sound so bad now) and its a possibility the base Supra will have a 330hp 3.5 V-6 and the top of the line model a (I guess now) 390hp V-8, the Lexus V-8.
I am sure the next Lexus V-8 will be lighter than the current one so it won't make it a nose heavy car.

According to a planet Kaizen announcement, (read about 3 months ago)
Toyota has no current plans to resurrect the Supra name plate. However, watch out for an upcoming Toyota branded sports car.
