Bugatti Veyron for Sale on eBay
Date Posted 06-10-2005
CYBERSPACE A brand-new Bugatti Veyron has been offered for sale on eBay, with a requisite starting bid of $1.7 million. The car is one of the first 50 to be produced of the model; deliveries will begin in October.
According to an official company statement, only 300 of the world's fastest passenger car will be manufactured. The production planned for 2005 has already been pre-sold to customers from the U.S. and Arabic countries who have put down about $370,000 in deposits.
With a top speed in excess of 248 mph, the Veyron holds the world record as the fastest series-produced passenger vehicle. The official record was set at a Volkswagen test track and verified by international certifier TÜV Süddeutschland.
The Veyron offered on eBay comes with a VIP package, which includes a visit to the manufacturing plant at Alsace in France, a test-drive and a personalized driver-seat adjustment by Bugatti.
As this story went to press, the seller, named Grant, had not yet received any bids for the vehicle.
What this means to you: The car speaks for itself, but if it sells online, that would speak volumes for eBay.
