The Accord's from late 80's & early 90's are still the best looking IMHO.

Yep, that was the real deal. I still dont think its much of an improvement at all. The rear is drastically different(not better looking), but the front looks exactly the same and even that is still ugly. So they redesigned an ugly rear end with an ugly rear end. I will give them a big
for adding LED tails to a car in the 20K range.
I never knew the overhangs were so damn long(front and rear), my goodness.

The new Camry though is much more reworked. I expect it to keep the sales lead.

Okay I know we had a few threads about this that had this car captured on a camera phone several months ago. Sorry I didn't add to that thread, I figured it deserved one on its own

Well here are the actual photos of the freshened Accord Sedan, I guess the mystery car was the Accord. The lights are an overall improvement, but the car looks worse overall
I still think the current Camry SE looks better and the Next gen will be even nicer.

Since thread is here wether repost or not....lets comment.
The updated rear end does look less controversial, but it doesn't flow with the rest of the car. It's like two different car. They must be desperate to do this much updating, maybe the sales numbers are actually worse than we thought. But I don't think this is going to save Accord sales. That rear end resembles the current Civic, another vehicle that's also loosing sales fast. Changing stratigy nearing the vehicles life is not a good move IMO, it makes people think you're desperate and insecure. Why not wait for a total redo, just bring it to market earlier like Toyota is doing with Camry? Bending to the will of the customer in midlife like BMWs doing is not going to help cuz those who bought the current design isn't going to take a huge lost in resale just for an update. Accord is still selling at 400,000 units, there's not enough new customers to make it worth the investment or embarassment.

Honda has refreshed cars before, they just refreshed the RSX and gave a little bump in hp. Honda refreshed the last gen TL with a different headlight treatment, type-s model, and 6 disc in dash player so refreshing the accord is not that big of a deal. I will have to judge the car in person while the rear end looks a little better I don't know about the side and front. I did not like the new accord when it first came out but after seeing some v-6 models with the small spoiler and multispoke rims I thought it looked pretty good. The interior is the best in class in my opinion so I do not think it will really be changing. I thought the last gen accord was way too conservative and appeared more like a floaty buick or camry. The version around 96 which I owned was one of my favorites. The version before that was also nice especially that aqua color SE with the polished aluminum rims. My dad had a grey 88 with the fold up lights which was a very nice looking car especially when it was brand new. He put almost 300,000 miles on it through 11 years and it never had a problem even though it had been in 3 accidents.

i have an Accord
.
As for my big cousin, the rear is nice at best, but now it doesn't flow with the front. i still believe the only good looking car in this class is the Mazda 6. The Accord does have the best interior, hands down though.
