Not sure of what I think less of......that makeshift wing or what's under it.

And.....even if it WAS a real wing......who but an idiot would want rear downforce on a front-drive car like that? It would take traction off the front driving ( and steering ) wheels.

Some fwd race prepped cars have downforce on the rear wheels then again down force is all around them.

But I think this guy was doing it as a joke.

The rear-wheel downforce on race cars is, of course, to keep the car from swapping ends in a tight or high-G turn, but that is a whole different ballgame from a family-sedan like this.

I agree that it may be a joke to start with.

Just a suggestion, gs430jw: You might be able to make some money with that picture if it is not already copyrighted. Car and Driver magazine prints unusual and funny car pictures in the back of every issue....your picture IMO looks like a good candidate. Send it to them with your name and address...if they print it they might pay you for it.

Might be able to achieve 3 pounds of downforce at any speed that vehicle is likely to achieve - unless of course it is being driven over a cliff . . . it will need a little more wickerbill though.

no, it's a bookshelf. so if it is loaded with book, it gives you at least 50lbs of downforce even at absolute 0 velocitly..
