When the Subaru Tribeca was unveiled last January at Detroit, many of you (including me) thought it was ugly. The Alfa-Romeo-type grille that looks so good on real Alfas just seemed out of place here on a Subaru car-based SUV. While views differed on the interior, in my opinion, it was not good-looking at all.....too much like the early-mid 90's Toyota Previa, which I also disliked. The Tribeca, unfortunately, also did not have the superb quality of materials and Lexus-grade Interior that its own brothers Legacy and Outback do. You can tell the difference in switches and hardware on a Tribeca and Outback just by feel alone...at least I can.

Now, however, like it did with the 9-2X and the Impreza, Saab is redoing the Tribeca into a vehicle with its own nameplate and front-end styling....the 9-6X.....which IMO promises to be better-looking than the Tribeca. There probably won't be much difference inside (don't have an interior shot yet) , but the outside...particularly the grille, IMO is a BIG improvement over the Tribeca.....and will probably be worth the premium that Saab is likely to charge.
