Lexus Luxury Pickup??

Lexus Luxury Pickup??
This is a hypothetical, but with the Ford, Lincoln, Caddy and Hummer having a luxury pick up that are selling pretty well, how popular do you think a Lexus pick up truck would be? Maybe something based on the Tundra Quad cab, but with the Lexus touch to make it a TRUE Lexus. I had the luxury of having one in my household for at little over 6 months and I LOVED every minute of it. So how popular do you think something like this would be? I know that if the execution was done to the Lexus perfection, I would buy one.

I saw the Lincoln one the other day and it looked just like a F150 with different badges.
I don't think a Lexus pickup would sell too well.

nooooo lexus pickup.... mercedes and bmw dont have pickups, and that is the style lexus is going for....
you only named 2 companies there that have pickups... ford... thats not a luxury pickup, lincoln... the blackwood(pickup) SUCKED and didnt sell well at all. the hummer isnt exactly LUXURY, it's just a hummer. they are offered with lots of options, but it isn't sold as a luxury vehicle. the caddy, that is, but i rarely see the pickup version.
and notice gm controls the 3 there that are pickups that actually sell. and they don't sell THAT well

Out of Warranty
Existing "luxury pickups" are all re-badged vehicles from lower on the corporate food chain
Escalade EXT = Chevy/GMC Avalanch/Sierra Denali
Lincoln = Ford F-150
Now if Lexus were to follow the same pattern, they could re-badge a Tundra, but based on the sales figures of the domestic luxo-trucks, It doesn't look like a hot item.

Clearly luxury has changed some. In the past 15 years we have seen premium brands from Japan and the rise of luxury SUVs besides Range Rover. And we have the luxury pickups with the Escalade and the Lincoln offerings.
I doubt Lexus will offer it unless its a super premium pickup. Caddy and the Escalade are the only ones to pull it off successfully thus far. Lexus already has 3 SUVs, most of any luxury carmaker and I don't think they would want to add a pickup as they attempt to be more sporting.
IMO, the Tundra interior is Lexus-Like, I can't imagine what the next version will be like. And for those that don't know, the Ford F-150 interior will SHOCK you, its that good.

I think a Lexus truck would kinda hurt their image anytime in the foreseeable future... though who knows what the distant future may hold?
It certainly wouldn't cost them very much if they just made the current LX470 into a truck... body on frame is relatively easy to manipulate like that since you don't have to worry nearly as much about body changes affecting the structural integrity of the overall vehicle.
I think it would work better for them if they started off with something like a convertible SUV. Like one of the GM vehicles that can act as a truck or SUV at the push of a button (or manually).

There is an interesting thought. Use the hardtop SC430 convertible technology on a bigger scale with a convertible SUV, would make it extremely pricey.

Give it an eye catching design and give them to rappers and they'll sell
On a seriously note, I would buy it. I am a big fan of trucks. I've had a previous gen Tacoma, a Tundra and hopefully a new Tacoma. I'd definately rock one.
