Why do you have pinpoint the LS? Don't most other non-sporty cars take a similar approach as well, including the S class before this new one?
The wheel wells are too pronounced, especially for a sedan, to the point of being intrusive if you ask me, especially for the SWB version. It may grow on me, but it definately will take time to get used to. They are trying to use the theme of the Rolls Royce's & other old models of the 70's & before, but those cars are larger & better proportioned & flows better with the rest of the car with regard to the wheel wells.
It's interesting to take a different approach, but it also needs to be aesthetically pleasing, look at the Bangle designs, it has grown on some people(the 5) but a lot of people still don't like them, & they have to take a safer approach to their bread & butter model, the new 3 series.
I still think this new S is nice looking enough overall, but a step backwards from the previous.
