Default The 14 Most Unreliable Luxury Cars

Just another report of what we already knew. Good summary though.

I can clearly see why the new 5 is on that list. My co-worker has a 530i and already had power steering problems.

Thanks flip for inlin'ing the pics.
It's basically a gallery of all modern European cars.
It's funny that the filenames of those car images all end with "feat". Yep, what a feat that is.

The new 7-series, ( not on that list ) according to Consumer Reports has been more unreliable than the 5....but of course this is the first year for the new 5-series. It's too early to tell, long-range, yet.

Your co-worker's 530i steering problems may be related to the complexity and electronics of its new Active Power Steering system............I responded to that in detail in an earlier thread.

Haha interesting trend, 5 of them are Ford products, 4 Mercedes Benz, 2 BMW.

The term BM-Trouble U still stands.

I checked w/her, she has the regular steering. That discounts your theory.

The 7 is on the list. It was just that flip didn't include the pic of the 7 when he first posted the pics.

Good....then she didn't waste her money. That Active system doesn't impress me....for several reasons. It's hard to beat a conventional BMW system for dynamics and road feel. The old pre-Bangle 528i, IMO, had the best power steering I ever felt. It was marvelous.

I hope that they find the problem on her car, whatever it is.

this is so sad

the ultimate driving machine...

the ultimate trouble machine as well. and i love BMWs so much. but the 3 series is still good apparently...

and as long as the Mercedes Benz SL series is still good. i'm happy. i wonder how the CLS will fare.

never cared for Jags, and the Freelander was a joke anyway. shame that the Touareg is on that list--i like that car a lot.

All this doesn't prove anything, many americans and other rich folks around the world are still going to continue buying these unreliable vehicles to make their manufacturors even richer. Euros can get away with just about anything. Toyota, Honda and Nissan must be very envious, I'm very sure they wish they could overcharge on unreliable vehicles and never really have to worry about losing their customers. If Lexus' record even takes a small dip, I wonder how many of y'all will jump ship or what a field day the press and the anti-japanese fans will have..

Looks like BMW and Benz are winning big time.
