I think what they're doing predate rap videos or any videos that featured people doing donuts and such. I remember them saying on that site that they've been doing that since 85,86 when did Yo! MTV raps come out?

I grew up in the East Bay but luckily not in Oakland. I guess it was widespread since I was closer to Richmond/San Pablo and etc...just an extension of the Oakland kinda ghetto.
Yo! started in 1988. So those guys are a little off. Maybe they should have referred to Dominique DiPrima & KRON's Home Turf. LOL
