this just came to me.
Lamborghini = souped up VW
Ferrari = souped up Fiat
VW Group has 100% authority over Lambo, and Fiat SPA has about 55% in Ferrari.
how long will it be before the brand integrity is ruined? Lamborghini has already gone berserk with crazily impractical convertibles that cater to the non-performance oriented flashy buyers...
Ferrari is still going rather well--but the 612 has 4 seats.

Maserati MC12 = Ferrari Enzo

Also, with the 612 having 4 seats, is it meant to compete with the Maserati Quattroporte? (i've seen 2 locally already!) I dont see how it can, the Quattro is under $100k, whereas the Ferarri im sure is at least 2.5x more, and I'm sure performance in the Ferrari follows somewhat with the price, not just the name.

I don't think FIAT or Audi would really do anything to tarnish their images. They have way too much riding on these models and to make them more affordable would do nothing but hurt themselves.
