The gs is getting old and Im looking to get one of the following. Either a Mercedes Benz CLS 500
or BMW 645ci. What would you guys choose and why.

The CLS has had some major maintenance and driving issues. I like the styling on the bimmer more, and also the handling in the BMW is going to be superior to the CLS. Also, The bimmer has 325 horses at 4.4 liters, but it weighs 300 pounds less. The CLS is 302 hp @ 5 liters. The bimmer has more head room, but less rear leg room/shoulder room.
Now if you were thinking an extra 20g's for CLS55 AMG, go for it

I'd go CLS. I think the car as a whole looks much more classy. I've seen both cars in person, I think the CLS has a lot more presence. I also think the 6's interior is kinda plain looking for a 70-80,000 "luxury" car.
But then again, if u value performance over styling, go 6.... its going to handle better and be a bit quicker as well.

I voted for the CLS500 because of looks by its self. The way its a "4 Door Coupe", it is pure sexiness. If you throw down some sick rims with a polished lip, your set.
I would get a 645 if it was 6speed black/white, but why not just get the CLS55 or M6?

can you live w/ just 2 doors? one is a true coupe whilst the other is coupe like. Personally i think you get a nice compromise of styling and practicality w/ the CLS over the 645

tough call, although for some reason i'm really drawn to 645's lately. they are so damn ugly and so damn nice at the same time. I guess Bangle is on to something, because I like cars that I hate! LOL

But, If I were you I'd wait for a 2006, it will be a 650i with an extra 34hp, Comfort access (keyless start) and a couple of new color options. (a red and a blue)
How do I know? I gave my dealer a deposit and am 1st on the list for one. Early Sept build, delivery in Oct.
Honestly, it was no real choice, even over the MB AMG.

Remember, the CLS is pretty much a re-skinned e-class. No Bluetooth was a small consideration. BMW's NAV is much better as well.
I'm about 6'2". Trying to fit in the back seat of the CLS was a chore. have four doors? have four realistic seats! The 6 is a coupe plain & simple. Not something that is trying to redefine coupe.
It's easy to say "I'd go M6", and I would in a heartbeat if the opportunity presented itself.
What's the problem? It's that they expect them next spring, possibly 1 a month if past patterns hold true. My dealer refuses to sell over sticker (as i refuse to pay) and my dealer has 30 standing orders for the M6, that puts my delivery into 2008 at the best.
I'm thinking I'll take delivery of the 650 and possibly get on the M6 list at the same time. I need something to enjoy this year, not 3 years from now.
Don't worry Derrick.. We'll be in touch. I'm inclined to think mild body kit (breyton), wheels and whatever it takes to lower gracefully.

I'm torn on which one to pick buuuuuut I think I'm gonna go with the CLS simply because of styling, but damn, that exhaust note on the 6!

I know what you mean though. Tough choice between those two. I'd probably go with the 6 because I'm big coupe man at heart but I love that CLS styling.
Skip the 645 and the 650 and head straight for the M6.
