I can't wait to see performance figures on the GS350 vs GS430. Would it be right to guess that the 350 would take the 430 on the high end because of the more HP?

2GR-FSE... if I remember right (which i probably don't!), the G means V-configuration, R is 6 cylinder... FE means economy head... what what does this new S indicate as far as engine code goes... direct injection??

Yup, you got it ... even thought the engine has an economy head, just look at the awesome power it makes thanks to DI ... if this had a performance head; imagine a 2GR-GSE ... that would be a BEAST ... but Toyota wants everything to be as good as possible, so high power combined with high fuel economy is the way to go.

GS350 and IS350 share the same engine ... so performance should be similar, with the IS350 being a bit better overall I reckon. I'll take a stab and say GS350 acceleration will be 5.8 - 6.0 sec 0 - 60, and handling one notch below the IS350.

If you think about it, the GS460 then must have a sizeable performance improvement over the GS350 ... 0 - 60 possibly in 5.1, 5 flat, or even high 4's . That and guaranteed quarter mile times in the mid/high 13 sec range. We're talking about Supra TT performance in a midsize luxury Lexus sedan . The Infiniti M will have to play catch up at that point ...
