It looks like an Altima with a few changes here and there. Don't like it at all.

I actually prefer the design of the current maxima over that thing though
Infiniti discontinued the I30/35 because it was a slow seller. The I30/35 idea came about when they saw how the ES was a sales sucess. Just like the J30, the M30 were...they are now a thing of the past...kind of like the Q not too far from now. Perhaps Infiniti will later recycle the names like they did with the current G, M, QX. All in all, unlike Lexus, Infiniti had to axe many platforms and gave it a rebirth. Lexus has carried each model name since it's inception in 1989, the LS & ES still sell well in their respective classes. You can't really say the same for Infiniti...they're still teething but lately they have come out with really competative models for a change.

To be an Avalon fighter, Nissan/Infiniti needs to better seperate their cars for different platform levels. They have a good overlap in their lineup which isn't bad, but would leave them no room to add newer models in between.

Maxima = Avalon fighter. Teana seems to make little sense...

This car's exterior is identical to the Nissan Maxima sold in Australia:

http://www.nissan.com.au/maxima/

The interior is, however, different.

So, don't worry, whether or not this prototype is a Nissan or a Toyota it is not going to look like this.

At any rate it looks very nice on the road actually.

Why have the Maxima be completely different in Austrailia and perhaps elsewhere? It should use a different name.

Okay, so its already called the Maxima? But it doesn't look like our USA Maxima. THe greenhouse is identical to the NIssan Fuga/Infintii M35/45. Lol, I am actually a lil confused.

This thing has been on sale here for a couple of years now and supposedly replaced the Cefiro. What we got here is the 2.3L model and the interior looked more at home in a furniture store than in a car.

At the price it's selling here (around US$38,000), it's still set cheaper than it's competition the Toyota Camry (US$40,000) but more expensive than the Honda Accord (US$35,000)

Listen to the man The interior is impressive and this car shares its some what weighted presence, although not nearly as visible as its predesesor Cefiro. Back in the days, Cefiro was the shia* and can be seen every where as family sedans and taxis...

$40,000 for a Camry over there! ?

Do you no what they are in the US?

Half that.

And Americans still complain about car prices.
