I have the same problem.... I was driving to LAX and cop on a motorcycle stops me and gives me a warning.... couldn't believe it.... I could've been from outa state, but still pulled me over....
My car was clean stock, even without tint then.... not to mention the baby seat and the wife in the rear seat!
I think I'll do the mod below.... any suggestions for the screws that go into the bumper? I figure you get the self tapping kind, but is that strong enough?
Also what do you all think about a side mounted plate? Center seems so "normal" but I guess to the side could be a bit ricey...

I have a question for you California guys...............
In my travels to LA, I notice tons of higher-end cars on the road that don't have a rear plate. They'll have some dealer ad plate or something, not a califonia license plate.
Most of the cars I've noticed with no plates seem to be newer cars. Does Califonia not require temp tags or 30-day tags for new cars?
