Default DaimlerChrysler AG Reports 25 Percent Increase in U.S. Sales for July 2005

NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2005

DaimlerChrysler AG, the third largest U.S. auto maker, today reported total group sales of 260,937 passenger vehicles in the U.S. for July 2005, a 25 percent increase compared to July 2004. All sales figures in this release are on an unadjusted basis unless otherwise noted.
Chrysler Group, which consists of the Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge brands, posted sales of 240,146 vehicles in the U.S., an increase of 27 percent. Adjusted for one fewer selling day in July 2005 compared to July 2004, sales actually rose 32 percent.

After launching a record nine new models in 2004, the Chrysler Group is launching several new models in 2005, including the all-new 2006 Jeep Commander. In June, the company started shipping to dealers the all-new 2006 Dodge Charger, which has received enthusiastic feedback from the media and great anticipation among consumers.

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) posted sales of 20,791, a 10 percent increase compared to the same month last year and the best July sales in its history. In July, the all-new 2006 M-Class, built in Vance, Alabama, continued its strong momentum in the market. Later this year, the R-Class, which represents Mercedes's new Sports Tourer segment, will be available at dealerships. These models will further expand MBUSA's position as offering the widest product portfolio in the luxury vehicle market, and the company expects to set yet another record year.

Detailed vehicle sales information for MBUSA and Chrysler Group will be announced later today in separate press releases issued by the groups. July 2005 had 26 selling days while July 2004 had 27 selling days.

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050802/detu011.html?.v=19

* F-Series sales climb 58 percent to 126,905 - the highest monthly sales for any vehicle in modern day U.S. automotive history.
* Overall, Ford Motor Company's U.S. sales totaled 366,548 - a new July sales record. Total sales up 29 percent compared with a year ago (retail sales up 39 percent).
* Car sales up 16 percent paced by record Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montego sales; Ford Mustang (up 28 percent) and Ford Focus (up 37 percent) also post strong July sales.
* Trucks sales up 34 percent on record F-Series and sport utility sales.

DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ford (NYSE: F - News) dealers delivered 126,905 F-Series trucks to U.S. customers in July -- the highest monthly sales for any vehicle in modern day U.S. automotive history. It is believed to be the highest monthly sales for any vehicle since Ford's Model T cruised America's roads in the 1920s.

"Our dealers leveraged the best truck in America and the Ford Family Plan to deliver an outstanding result," said Steve Lyons, Ford group vice president, North America Marketing, Sales and Service.

F-Series record-breaking sales helped Ford Motor Company set a July sales record and post its second monthly sales increase in a row. Ford's U.S. sales totaled 366,548 in July, up 29 percent compared with a year ago. Sales to retail customers were up 39 percent, while sales to fleet customers were down 20 percent.

Within the total, car sales were up 16 percent (up 31 percent at retail) and truck sales were up 34 percent (up 41 percent at retail).

"We're pleased with the balanced results achieved with the Ford and Lincoln Mercury Family Plans," noted Lyons. "On the car side, we continue to benefit from the new products we introduced late last year. We expect to build on this momentum when the new Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Lincoln Zephyr debut this fall and we're optimistic we can achieve an increase in car sales for the first time since 1999."

Each of the company's new full-size sedans, the Ford Five Hundred and the Mercury Montego, posted their highest sales to date. Five Hundred sales were 13,555 and Montego sales were 4,014. Combined sales for all of the products produced at Ford's Chicago Assembly Plant (including the Ford Freestyle crossover utility) were 27,506 -- well above the previous best sales month of 18,077.

Despite limited availability, Ford Mustang continued to set a fast pace as sales increased 28 percent. Ford Focus sales were 24,311, up 37 percent.

The company's dealers sold a record number of sport utility vehicles in July (103,376). The company continued to see higher sales among crossover utility vehicles. Combined sales for the Ford Freestyle, Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, and Volvo'

XC70 and XC90 were 38,601, up 99 percent compared with a year ago. The Ford Freestyle (9,937) and Mercury Mariner (5,662) each set new monthly sales records and the Ford Escape set a July sales record (18,245).

Combined sales for traditional sport utility vehicles were up 8 percent compared with a year ago, including a July record for Land Rover of 5,080, up 103 percent. Land Rover introduced the all-new Range Rover Sport in July. Sales of both the Ford Explorer and Ford Expedition were up 4 percent. Production of the redesigned 2006 model Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer began July 19 at Ford's Louisville Assembly Plant. Production of these models will begin at Ford's St. Louis Assembly Plant on August 15.

All three of Ford's domestic brands posted higher sales in July. Ford Division's sales of 310,757 were a record for the month and up 33 percent compared with a year ago. Mercury sales were up 23 percent. The Lincoln Mark LT full-size truck achieved its highest sales month ever, lifting Lincoln sales higher than a year ago.

Default Porsche Cars North America Reports July 2005 Sales

Sales Increase for Month and Fiscal Year End

ATLANTA, Aug. 2, 2005; Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States and Canada, today announced July retail sales in the United States totaled 2,804 cars, an increase of 4 percent compared to July of last year. Year-to-date sales reached a total of 18,930, up 3 percent from the same period last year.

In addition, PCNA closed its fiscal year in July and reported North American sales of 33,974 cars, an increase of 3.6 percent over the previous fiscal year. Of those cars, 6,480 were Boxsters (up 25 percent), 10,327 were 911s (up 2.5 percent), 336 were Carrera GTs (up 314 percent) and 16,831 were Cayennes (down 3 percent).

"Considering the current sales environment, beating last year's number is a testament to the value of our products," said Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO. "We would have finished even higher with greater 911 supply. We only wish we had more 911s to meet the demand of our customers."

In addition, dealers sold 493 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicles compared to 428 for the same period last year. For the fiscal year, dealers sold 5,041 CPO vehicles compared to 3,930 the year before, an increase of 28 percent.

Damn, Lexus is going well. When the IS comes in September, no one will be even close in sales. And the GS 450h comes next Spring as well.
Seems the changes to the LX have helped! And the ES is stil solid, it is just pefect for it target market. The GX is still selling well too, even with increased competiton.

Way to go Lexus

Put together is correct, since its a car made from parts from every car in Renualts recylced bin But it seems people don't care, the price is very attractive and its a great driving car. Kudos to them, they figured it out this time around.

Kudos to them indeed. I still don't quite understand why they wouldn't list the numbers for the 35's and 45's separately however.

Lexus should list the RX400h separately too, though they do mention the sales number for the RX400h in the PR.

The M is doing very well. Still wish they would seperate the M35/45. They're closing in the gap!

Lexus GS = 3,378 > Infiniti M = 2,755
