It is just a question, I don't see what is so funny about it. So you know a little bit more about cars than she does, so what? Car is a very complicated machine, it is a very reasonable for someone to ask that question.

Many of you probably never driven a hybrid, I bet you know very little about the "tach" in a hybrid too . . .

If she's that concerned about having 0 RPM at idle, a Prius or the Honda IMA system should easily solve that problem. The Honda system, though, is different than Toyota's...it shuts the gas engine off at stops only intermittently after several conditions involving gas engine temperature and electric battery charge have been met. The Toyota system operates parallel and independently and is much more complex....and the new RX400H / Highlander system is much more complex yet.

I won't point fingers at this poor girl, though....we all had to learn, and today cars are much more complex than whan I learned to drive. In fact, if any of you can get in contact with her, why not invite her to join CL? She will learn a LOT here....very quickly.
In fact, as far as young ladies at CL are concerned, I remember Talgrl626 quite well.......we helped her with a lot of things. She was a real sweetheart.......I miss her.

Did anyone see this link in the BMW tach thread?

Maybe it's old-hat, but still very funny indeed.
