Thanks, Jim......that is what I usually base my auto recommendations to others on, too.

Thanks. We may just disagree a little on this.....and cars, of course, are at least partly a matter of personal taste.

Yes, there is some plastic in the 2005-2006 Legacy and Outback interior....and the glovebox could feel a little more solid. However, IMO, in general it has a richer look inside than, say, Accords, Camrys, and other mid-sized competitors.....especially the cheap Nissan interiors.
And...trust me.....I look at a LOT of new automobiles, year in and year out, and for the money (mid-20's to low-30's) I don't think there is a better interior today for that price. Subaru does a good job with both the brushed-aluminum trim and fake wood-paneling.
The Lexus ES330 also has a stunning interior with real wood....probably the best one I have seen in the 30-40K class. In the 40K-and up class, the prize would be split 4-way between Lexus, Jaguar, Audi, and the VW Phaeton. I don't include Rolls / Bentley, Aston Martin, and Maybach with their stunning interiors because they sell in such low numbers and at huge prices.

If you want to see MY definition of a cheap and flimsy interior, look at a 3 or 4-year-old Altima or the new Mustang V6....not the GT.

Wow, great choice, and it was obviously expected. I too like the new Legacy range. Definitely one of the best cars available in its class. Good luck with car, seems like you are already enjoying it. Hope to see pics soon.
