It's official -2006 Toyota Supra - Tokyo Auto Show Launch
Got this from another forum :
Oct. 2005 Tokyo motor show will be the launch pad for the next generation Toyota Supra!
Sales to start as soon as spring 2006!!! Built off the Lexus IS/GS platform with a 4.0 liter V-6 engine.
No news on Turbocharged versions yet but you know that's coming, after all a Supra can not be a Supra without it.

I'm not sure about it's authenticity either, I'm not subscribed to the source of that post in the other forum, so I can't check it out. I always linkor list the source if I have access to it.

their website doesn't have a print article on it.
A Supra w/o turbos is lame. Sounds like it will be an M3 fighter

4.0L V6...1GR-FSE?? With the 3.5L 2GR-FSE already producing 306hp => 87.43hp/L, 4.0L can translate into EXACTLY 350hp! Can't wait!
Then again, it may be yet another rumor among the hundreds we've heard.

When Lexus/Toyota starts making their engine perform as good if not better than their numbers suggests, I'll get excited. Right now, only Honda and BMW has that nailed down.

Coming from a Supra owner, if it's not turbo it's likely to fail like the last one did. With the R35 being unvieled at the same show they've got their work cut out for them.

Don't know if I would take this a credible source. Big disappointment if it is just a NA v-6. Supra enthusiast will be disappointed and the car will no longer be able to compete with the Corvette, 911, GTR, NSX, M3, etc. I guess they are just going for a low price to compete with the 350Z, Eclipse, Boxster, Audi TT, Mustang, RX-8. It looks like it is going to be a enlarged Avalon engine. A GS platform is a pretty heavy platform even with the smaller IS more for a luxury car and not a all out sports car platform. I will be looking elsewhere for a high performance sports car if this is true. I still hold out hope for a rumored high performance strong v-8 or a turbo v-8 in a lightweight package to go head to head with Corvettes Skylines and 911's like the last one did.
