The point of the fact is that they do what they need to do and do it without having to disclose their whole schedule to the public for cameras and paparazzi to follow and chase them down. In the end it doesn't matter what they do or don't do. That's the whole point of them covering up the cars and trying to do their testing out in the rural areas.

I agree with Mike.....Toyota interiors 10 years ago, in the mid-90's, in general were much better than they are today. Today there is just too much emphasis on silver-painted plastic, electronic buttons, and non-intuitively-shaped controls.

I like the electrolum Lexus-like gauges though.
This bodes well for electrolum gauges in the 2007 Camry (they really make the 2003 Accord seem more upscale than it is). I've always been a sucker for electrolum guages.
150 mph speedometer and dual zone auto temp control (autospies has a larger pic). Looks like the RAV4 is going upscale.

Wait a sec. Speaking of the Accord, the 2007 RAV4 interior has a lot of styling cues from the Accord.
A large speedometer in the middle and a shortened version of the "Chevron sign" center stack.

It isn't just the Mazda 3 or the new RAV4. A number of vehicles today have the of vehicles today have that more-or-less triangular rear C-Pillar styling.....among them the Pontiac Vibe, Subaru Tribeca, and some VWs. It is becoming more and more popular...primarily because it adds style without seriously impeding rear visibility...a problem in many vehicles.
Dave, though, has a point about the AMC Gremlin....one of the cars, by the way, I remember so well from my high school years. It was perhaps the first car on the market to have that triangular C-pillar styling...there were none before it that I know of.
The Gremlin was also the first ( and only ) production car I know of to use blue-jean denim material for the interior and seat upholstery....the Levi Edition. The body was painted......you guessed it......a faded-blue denim color, with a special Levi's nameplate.
I can remember the amusing TV commercials where the cute teen-age girl gets freaked out and says "Wow.
