Oh don't give me that crap, WE'RE the ones getting screwed by Europe and Japan...ok, mostly Japan.

So yes, I now need to add the IS350 to my drive list.

I really doubt Lexus will allow a lower model GS V6 out perform the higher line GS V8 version. Perhaps equal but not surpass. It wouldn't make sense to have a high line v8 version if that.
I don't remember saying that I didn't believe your claim of 300+ HP, 280ish just seemed more feasible but the 306 was definitely a welcome surprise from a company who has been somewhat reserved on the horsepower war.

Obviously since the GS 350 and GS 460 will be launched together, the 460 will probably be far quicker than the 350, but my point was that the new GS 350 could possibly be at the same performance level as the current GS 430.

interesting info there andrew.

the is350 is just amazing, 5.1 0-60 and a whoping sub 14 for 1/4 mile at over 100mph, destroying all other cars in the badge

but the skidpad and lane change is a bit disappointing though, i guess the handling is still kinda soft huh? time for mods

Imagine what the 5.1 second time would drop down to with some performance mods!

0-60 in 5.1s is simply mind-boggling for the segment IS350 is targeting!! Whoever drove the IS350 for C&D must be one helluva maniac to be able to extract such a performance from it. It's strange, however, that C&D was able to get BMW 330i to run 0-60 in 5.6s but only 6.0s this time around. The driver was in a bad mood driving the 330i this time?

I'm surprised to see the 330i gets a 9 in the ride department while the IS350 gets only a 7. BMW's suspension tuning is simply amazing, offering both perfect handling AND great riding comfort. Somehow I gotta agree to some degree that the 330i is truly a more balanced, complete package, the controversial exterior and interior styling, and the fact that it broke down during the test notwithstanding.

DId I see a 1/4 mile of 13.7 seconds

Do ya'll know HOW FAST that is. That is some SERIOUS power.

Even with the other magazine getting a time of 5.5 seconds, we are still at an average, at a low 5 second car.

I CANNOT WAIT to see the LExus ad campaign for this car

The last C&D full M3 test got 0-60 in 4.5 and down the quarter in 13.1@107. Skidpad was .87, and 70-0 was done in 161 feet.

That 13.1 seems a little high to me, but I hardly have any M3 seat time. I'm sure someone on here would have more to say about that, or about ones they've seen run at the track.

I am still like Even on a bad day, this car is a low 14 second car at its WORST.

Take out some weight, add a little power, get some colder weather, you can hit a 13.5 with no issues.

That is RIDICULOUS for a 35k luxury sports sedan.
