That 13.1 seems a little high to me, but I hardly have any M3 seat time. I'm sure someone on here would have more to say about that, or about ones they've seen run at the track.

That's plain amazing... Their M3 vs. S4 vs. C32 comparo done in 2003 got M3 to do 0-60 in 4.8s and finished the quarter mile in 13.6s on the other hand.

Damn. this is not funny.

Basically, on the street, if the other guy is slipping or thinks the IS is just some "Lexus" he will get his *** handed to him stock.

It looks that that definately would be the case at stop light racing. Take a look at the trap speed of the IS350 though. That is on the low side for a car that does its 0-60 and its 1/4 mile. Most others in that time range are in the 106-108MPH range. Too me that means the gearing on the IS350 favors those 0-60 speeds and looses a bit of top end as it goes on. With a 5.1 0-60, the IS350 should in in the 13.0-13.2 range ane 107 MPH. I'm not complaining, just analyzing the numbers

The only thing I'm a little dissapointed about on this test is the skid pad numbers. 0.85g is not exactly exciting.

That sounds more correct. I passed up that review because I wanted to see their last full test (the one I posted on was from March 2003), and unsurprisingly the M3's numbers have been all over the place. I've heard of people running consistent low 14s at the strip, but with an engine as high-strung and often finnicky as the S54, it's really no surprise to me. Anyways, all this will be moot when the V8 M3 comes out, unless Lexus does the GT or h IS in a few years as well.

Take out some weight, add a little power, get some colder weather, you can hit a 13.5 with no issues.

That is RIDICULOUS for a 35k luxury sports sedan.

I'm feelin Mike on this one.... This car is SICK for the $$$

BTW.... What is the price of the IS350 ... 35k?? and when will it hit the states??

Wait, could it be that it was already on a bad day? The evidence is that both the 330i and G35 got slower 0-60 times than they did in previous C&D tests. They both did 0-60 in 5.6s previously but only manage 6.0s and 5.9s respectively this time. Given a good day, ALL those cars may have been faster.

Just a theory.

indeed, having the best skidpad, that's hard to believe (knowing how to car drive myself). it has to be factory tires right?

Factory tires are a must in these tests.

About the conditions, they said before 8AM it was already 100 out, and got as high as 116! Those are NOT optimal runninng conditions for any car really. No mention of humidity, which may have had a larger affect than temperature alone. There will be more tests though, and I'm sure members will be taking their ISs to the strip and be reporting back here.

Funny....When i read the write up on the homepage about the IS350, the author wrote how driving the IS250 AWD and the IS350 was night and day...

He mentioned how he left the IS250 standing still... Now I see why...

C&D corrects for temp and altitude. All of those numbers listed were corrected - none where what they actually ran.
