thanks again for the comments guys. i don't take it out much, since im actually saving it for my little brother.
Pat the carbs are dual sidedraft mikuni 44's. Good eye, I was waiting for someone to catch on that my 4AG wasn't fuel injected. It really gets into its element above 4.5k rpms, then it just sounds ridiculously good.

Sweet ride! I'll bet it sounds great on carbs... buy WAY illegal here in CA.
I have a soft spot for these cars- my brother has an '85 GT-S (Silver, sunroof, LSD) that we are building a 20V bottom-end to use with a trick 16v head. Works out to about 11.3/1 compression... with cams, should be good for about 145-150 crank hp with EFI and bigger injectors.
I have an '85 AW11 that is pretty trick, too... 7-rib with Wiseco pistons, Crower rods, TRD valve springs, Ferrea valves, Steve Long turbo cams, Garrett ball bearing turbo, TEC-II standalone EFI, air/water intercooler, LSD, suede interior, 18" Avus 3-piece wheels, Toyo T1-Rs etc... fun stuff indeed.
Based on the interior panels, my guess is that your car started life as an SR5... am I correct?
