Point is, mostly all of them do it. Some not so obvious, yet some very obvious.

No Lexus ever looked liked a Benz. Compare the 1990 LS to a 1990 Benz S class and the LS looks 10 years newer. So the GS looks like an E class just because it has quad headlamps???
Lexus did quad lamps years before Benz! SC400? Everything about the GS is completely different from the last E class.
And comparing the new Sonata to the new IS is just ridiculous. Where the heck are the similarities!?
Wow, and I thought it was typically girls who can't tell the difference between cars.

The whole issue of who-copies-who, IMO, is becoming less important than in the past.....for one main reason. There are so many different vehicles and designs in the marketplace it is becoming increasingly difficult to produce a TRULY original product....if you are not copying a design from Company A you will inadvertantedly copy Company B or C. If you are not copying a contemporary design from today you will copying one from yesterday.
In all my years of auto-watching, I think there has been only ONE car I have ever seen that NO one else EVER tried to copy in one form or another....and it is hilarious.......the BMW Isetta.

We all remember this pathetic move.
And then of course there is the Lexus GS vs. the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Point is, mostly all of them do it. Some not so obvious, yet some very obvious.

This is the 1990 LS 400.....way before the MB . I mean back then the MB look like a tank.but everybody said the Lexus copied MB. The smoothe body line, rounded body and a classic designed way back in the 1989.

Here is the 1991 MB 560.
You can look at the designed of the 1989 LS, 1995 LS, 1998 LS and the 2001 LS and you still can see the line/designed from the original 1989 with round and smooth body, hood, head light, grill, quarter pane,, tali light...ect. If you look at MB, how fast they had jumped from the square body to the round/smooth body.
The same designed can goes to the 1992 SC400 with quad head lamps.

Good comparisons VVT-i, not to mention the timeless looks of these vehicles. Seeing that Benz, it just looks OLD styling wise. that LS still holds some unique and timeless lines. Even more so with the first gen SCs, I still get people who dont believe that my SC was built in 1993!
