Mike, as usual, hit the nail on the head. This is a serious offense.

 

Heh. One time I was stopped at an intersection with a red light. And I'm just sitting there chilling waiting for the light to turn, all of a sudden a guy on a bike blows by me doing at least 50. A few seconds later, a cop comes up to the light with the sirens and lights going off. He stops at the intersection looks around a second, turns off his siren and lights and makes a U-turn back in the opposite direction. Looks like he gave up the chase.

 

I'll say it again: And then we unmarried males wonder why our insurance is so high.

 

Just my point. With the radio, he didn't HAVE to keep chasing. He probably radioed ahead to some officers who were just waiting for that guy on the bike.
