I am posting this thread to assist me in a school assignment.
1.What associations pop up in your head when one mentions a Ford Mustang? (doesn't have to be the new one!)
2.What associations pop up in your head when you see a new Mustang?
3.Who do you feel are the magor target markets for the Mustang?

1. Classic muscle car watered down with so many V6s
and people that think that they are badass buying them and spoiling the content of the name. Only 3 real Mustangs that are acceptable : 67 GT500, 00 Cobra R, and 03+ Cobra.
2. Brought back the style of the late 60's and the style is very slick, imo. The older styling was a lot more raw, hence the power upgrades.
3. Young Men age 16-25

1. Aggressive and often dangerous driving. I have seen more people killed in Mustang V8's, especially people under 21, than any other single make of car.
2. The first thing that pops into my head when I see a new one is memories of my youth....when I grew up with the original ones.
3. The target markets? Hard to say, since most of you know I don't believe in auto stereotypes, but if I HAD to give an answer, it would propably be a mixture of aging baby boomers like me who want to relive their youth and young people today who still HAVE their youth.

1. Classic, pony, muscle car
2. Heavy, underpowered (These things are booed at my track and they lose to classic stock Mustangs)
3. Person who wants instant gratification
