Even big, heavy Buicks like the LeSabre and Park Avenue? They may not have the build quality of a Lexus or an Acura, but they are a pretty solid piece of metal, structure-wise.

JLSC4 has a point about waiting to see what the 12-year-old ones are like...I don't disagree.
But we're not just talking initial findings here...the Century and Regal have been quite high in Consumer Reports' reliability database for several years now.
( Heck....for that matter......look at Mercedes-Benz. Many of their used 15-year old cars are more reliable than their NEW ones ).

You'll be suprised. The LeSabre and Century are popular Total Loss items going through my shops. At one time I was assigned a high volume Cadillac Dealer bodyshop in LA city. Because most people liked to bring their GM's their for repair Cadillac obviously first and Buick 2nd, Buicks seem to top my list of total losses per handling.

I have to say that I've had a few quality niggles with my new Camry. I've had three separate problems, only one of which has been satisfactorily resolved by the dealer. What bugs me most is the waste of time having to go back.

I have to say the rental General Motors Holden Commodore (the basis for the GTO coupe) I drove last month was perfect even with 25,000 kms on the clock (usually rentals are crap by this stage). The interior build quality was in the vicinity of my Camry as well.

So, at least from my recent experience, there is some weight to what he is saying.
