Come on, RON........a guy with YOUR automotive knowledge mixing up an S-Class with a FOCUS? That would be like me confusing a Lexus LS430 with a Yugo.

From the little I have read, the new S might be a very good car. But I am not sold on those Ford Focus wheel arches. Have to see one in person. I also don't know what the price of that new puppy is going to be.

I have an engineer with a light blue Focus and believe me, no one is ever going to confuse it for a Mercedes anything. He doesn't seem to care very much for that car. But I have to admit, the wheel arches look a lot like the concept that merc adopted. Let's also see what the teething problems are with the new S. I might be more interested in the R. I guess both are out but I drive by a merc dealership on the way to work, actually it is by far the closest dealership to me, and I haven't spotted a new S or R either on the lot or on the road.

I saw a few R classes when I was driving to Birmingham to look at the GS430 I bought. I saw 3 of them coming in back of me so I let them pass to get a good look. They are nice looking vehicles and I guess they were either road testing them out or driving them to different dealers. Looks like they will be the new minivan for rich people. Not sure if they are designed to be taken off road or driven in heavy snow.

Here is the NYC 2007 S500 I was talking about previously. Someone was able to get there hands on one already. He also has a Skyline. Ford GT, hooked up old school Mustang, Charger, Good Humor Ice Cream Truck(1950's style) and even Thomas the Tank Engine Train in his garage.

yeah i saw the s500 in a guys driveway down the street from me, about a month ago. I thought he bought a maybach at first, but then i saw the Benz badge. it looked pretty nice, i haven't seen it there since, maybe it was a friend of his.

I think this butt is WAY nicer than the 7 series. I could do without the dual shark fins though. I also don't agree the interior is that similar (most people focus them both having an iDrive like device).
