Hey - I was expecting an inexpensive list... Winter cars should be "under $2500.00"! The best winter car I have ever had is my current $800.00 1988 Corolla 4WD wagon. It has 280 000kms, runs perfect, gets fantastic gas mileage and is rediculously capable as a mini 4-wheeler. I use cheap-o no name all seasons all year (literally the cheapest I could find) and it never ever gets close to stuck in the Canadian snow mayhem. Best part is the simplicity of the car - solid rear axle, full time 4WD with a push-button locking centre diff. Awesome - and ugly! The perfect winter combo!!
