Congragulations on your car purchase. I had almost forgotten that Ford kept the ZX2 in production that long....2002. The thing that I remember the most about the ZX2 was the lovely violet purple color offered on that car....a color I really like buy rarely seen. This was not the more common dark purple but PURPLE purple...one of my favorite automotive colors. There was also a coral orange-pink color that was unusual but good-looking too.

Anyhow......on the issue of 25-MPH curves at 50 MPH.......most of today's vehicles and tires can take dry curves (and sometimes not-so-dry ones ) faster than posted warning-signs safely, but given that your car is a nose-heavy front-driver, and not a particularly stiffly-sprung one at that, the front tires take quite a load....steering, putting the power to the road, and the lion's share of the braking, all three. The faster and more high-G you corner, the more punishment they take, so don't expect to do that repeatedly and have them last very long....especially without rotation.

Don't worry about the fuzzy pictures of your significant other there.....she's pretty enough that it doesn't matter. The ring around her lower lip though, is unusual....most girls put them on their earlobe.

It might be nose- heavy, but it hadles like its on rails, no understeer at all. there were curves there that we took at over 80 and still no problem, they werent the tightest in the world, but they were sweeping curves, this was fun.

as for the tires, i could care less how last they long, they arent the tires i want. im gonna put Falken Zeix ZE512's on before winter hits anyways. but i see what you are saying.

the car seems well balanced, even at over 100. just smooth as a baby's ***. Noisy, but smooth LOL.

oh, yeah, and about the ring...i dont really mind. shes so great in every other category, and as long as shes happy, im not gonna ask her to change for me.

No she's up in the NE somewhere & her name is Donna I think!?!?!?!? I forget where, but I'll ask C.

mmarshall - see this younger generation does this new thing you may not have heard of. I think the kids call it pre-marital sexual encounters, or something like that, who knows what these hip-rap kids say anymore.

I know you do lots of good for our country, but that doesn't give you the right to drive like that. If someone else were to post this i'm sure they would get flamed. Especially taking pictures at 85 mps on a curvey road.

And why not? its not like there's people around, the only person i endanger is myself and maybe my passenger, who i might add was there willingly and never told me to slow down or showed any sign of discomfort at my high speeds. There ain't no schools way out here. Its just trees and stuff. If i saw a house I slowed down. Its harmless believe me. And i have every right to drive like this, I take responsibility for my actions. You treat me like I'm a moron, but I have been to 2 driving schools that teach high speed techniques and recovery, and have had MANY hours behind the wheel of a car just like this one. Im more than qualified to operate a vehcile at these speeds when the conditions are right. Its about 50 degrees and the weather was ok. no water or ice.

I also know the mechanics of this vehicle better than most people. If the car couldnt do it, I wouldnt have done it. I have torn these cars down and rebuilt them from the ground up many times. more than i can count on 2 hands.

And besdes all that, its not like i do it on a regular basis. I had a person with me, and she never doubted my abilities. there is nothing wrong with it if you do it in a distraction free environment. heres the way i did this one:

I drove through doing the speed limit once, while the passenger took pix and i got a feel for the curves through the stretch of road i would be driving on. then we went back the other way at or below the speed limit. then we put everything away, turned off the stereo and away we went. dont preach to me, telling me im a moron for driving that fast. Thats the difference between me and the average driver, i know what im doing. and if i ****ed up, i had noone to blame for myself.i saw 3 cars the whole time i was out there. and one of em was in the pic that i took. so back off please. i may be young, but dont stereo type me because im 20, im not stupid like many other young people.

oh and FYI, the yellow signs were posted at 25mph. the posted speed limit was 65. the yellow means RECCOMENDED in the state of NY. also means caution.

you think im stupid enough to take pix at those speeds? I dont even know what to say to that...

That's nothing new, chief. You gotta remember that many of the cars I grew up with (even the 2-doors) had BIG back seats.
