I was reading the new C and D I believe it was (actually not sure which mag) and they tested the new C350, the same C-class with the new 3.5 V-6 dropped in it and acceleration was very impressive. This was AMG C32/C43 time!!

hahah competition is great. Someday these same cars will go 0-60 in like 0.0005 seconds.

Sweet. Good looks, high hp and tq and a 7speed auto or an option 6speed manual. Sounds good to me. Unfortunately the price is way to much for me. My moms best friend has a C320 (I believe its the Sport model) and paid around or close to 46K. Thats what was on the MSRP. Nice car, but man its expensive when loaded up.

Pole Position
SOmething doesn't add up here:
2006 Mercedes C350
Engine3.5L 24-valve V-6 engine
Net Power268 hp @ 6,000 rpm
Net Torque258 lb-ft @ 2,400 - 5,000 rpm
Curb weight 3,495 lb/1,585 kg (3,685 lb/1,671 kg with 4MATIC™)
7-speed Automatic Transmission
I'm betting it was a "hot" car given to the press. 5.5 0-60mph times usually equate to mid to high 13 second 1/4 mile ET's, which would put the car around 300-350hp, espeically given it was an auto, with that sort of weight. I'm more inclined for what they quote for performance:
Acceleration1 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds
Unless of course, their hp claims are bogus.

Cool. 0-60 in 5.5!
I could use that kind of fire power on the 10 West toward LA!
