The V word and the Pearl Harbor comment were not cool. He could get away with everything except for the V word if he worked for C&D. Personally I found his review funny however and spot on. His review of the GX was also spot on as well.

An outstanding article by a talented writer . . . unfortunately objectivity is not what he's being paid for. Like practically all newspaper "auto columnists", his function is to simply say nice things about the paper's advertisers. It’s part of the ad package – buy a couple of full page spreads and get a warm, fuzzy review on the lead page of the auto section. When the writer delivers an opinion instead of the expected bouquet, he isn’t contributing to the paper’s revenue – and he’s replaced with someone who will grind out the requisite flowery prose. Sadly, auto journalism, like any other, is a business.

I look forward to seeing Farago's work in a legitimate automotive mag.

Wow a penalty for honesty. That was a pretty interesting article.

so he put a little extra mustard, he was honest about the whole deal. For him to get fired is like firing the chief designer that design this B9 crap while on crack. Wonder if he or she got fired? And what the hell does B9 mean anyway?

I find the commercials of the B9 rather funny... is this what a SUV is supposed to be? Horrid?

The people that need to be fired are the ones that were in charge of designing the car in the first place AND THE person that submitted the sketch of the current B9 design.

This is worse than the Pontiac Aztek; and thats saying A LOT

well, it just doesn't swoop like the tribecas does. granted they may not be the first ones to do this, but they certainly won me over with it.

Saw a Tribeca on the road today! Didn't look that bad to me.

It's not just the looks...the interior hardware and switchgear IMO is not up to other Subarus as well.....they have a cheap and flimsy feel, and the acres of silver-painted plastic on the dash and console is tacky at best.. But......... to give credit where it is due, the body solidness IS well-done. Shut the doors and they feel and sound like an older Mercedes-Benz...back in the days when Mercedes BUILT cars.

Yes, flip, it is not easy finding accurate and well-written newspaper auto weeklies.....that is why I posted it. Many of these newspaper auto journalists do nothing but sugar-coat things all day long with rose-colored glasses. The auto mags generally do a better job overall.....although they seem to be obsessed with BMW and Porsche.

However, I don't agree entirely with the way this article was written. He used some terms I would not use....and have not used......in my own write-ups.
