I have that episode on my TiVo showing an air date of 10/05...
***EDIT***
Well, I checked TiVo and it was no where in the directory for shows to be recorded. So here is what I sent to the Discovery Channel:
I was curious to know why Top Gear was taken off the air. I loved every episode that aired of Top Gear and am very disappointed that you would remove it from your air list. Now, don't get me wrong I like watching "Beyond Boundaries" as much as the next tree hugging hippie, but I feel that you are removing one of the best automotive shows currently in production.

He got a good old fashioned case of Pwn3d. I like to see people not bending over and letting the whiners run the country. It's about time people stood for ther beliefs again and stayed firm. Letting it go would have just been a pathetic display of weakness on Discovery's part.

So this is the reply that I got from the Discovery Channel. I was actually surprised to see this in my inbox:

Apparently the requirements for "Viewer Relations" don't actually include relating with viewers.

This was my reply. Looks like it will be back in December!
Thank you for contacting Discovery Channel. We appreciate you taking the
time to share your thoughts and concerns with us regarding “Top Gear.”
Your comments will be forwarded to our program management and executives
and will be taken into consideration.
The "Top Gear" show was not "taken off the air" but rather ran its pattern.
It is being revamped for a U.S. audience and will return later this year.
Look for it in December.

I bet you'all that this "revamping for a US audience" is going to detract from the show. I loved the Brits, their accents, the STIg, the exotic cars that we don;t see here much etc.
This "revamp" will not be a good thing.

they have to reshoot segments for Top Gear America
some of the things relevant there---aren't here. the car scenes cannot be redone (it's all done beforehand), but the studio segments are shot the wednesday of the week the show comes on (Sunday night). So just those scenes are reshot for Discovery.

Yeah, i just got the "revamp" email as well... Mine came from Sarah though.
Email is verbatim, so im assuming that they had a lot of requests for Top Gear back on the air...

i loved that show, especially when they ring out the cars on that test track with the professional driver to try and get the best lap time. I think the ferrari Enzo had the best track time then the Porsche Carrera Gt in a close second.
