Incendiaryl good point, I wonder why no CVT. Maybe the hyrbrid will though, like th 400h and 450h

One of the things we all more-or-less decided on when we discussed this issue back in August was that CVT's were not ready yet for higher-powered vehicles. Until very recently they were used only on low-powered fours....and only recently have Ford and Audi started using them on V6's.

New LS pics

Autoweeks Most Significant
Most Significant
Lexus LF-sh concept
When the world's wealthiest car company creates a flagship in the same year Mercedes-Benz introduces its S-Class, that's significant. When Lexus builds the flagship (make no mistake, this is the next LS), and it has a four-inch stretch, hybrid power and looks as good as this sedan does, that's significant. And when the LS has all-wheel drive and a potent V8 engine, that, too is significant. As a significant postscript, we can't help but notice how now even Lexus is copying the Bangle-esque flame-surfacing styling. All this adds up to make the LF-sh concept Tokyo's most significant debut.

These new pics (particularly the first) show commonality in design from IS to GS to LS which is significant for Lexus. This new LS looks like a GS with a high hood and a high trunk.

this looks mean from this angle

is it just me, or are Lexus display cars always a little lower than the production models end up being?

I lOVE the NEW GRILL!!

That should be Lexus' new grill for all its cars.

Existing Lexus front grills frequently allow one to see all the crap in the engine bay. I dont like that. This grill hides it and looks really strong and bold. I also liek the Big Lexus Bade in front.

Unless I'm mistaken, Nissan's been using a CVT with the VQ in the Murano since its introduction.

Would you say this color is the same Breakwater Blue that appears on the New IS 350?

I think it is silver--the lights give it that bluish reflection.

That's why this grill won't reach production - there's no airflow!

Yes, definitely seems that way - it's kinda lame.

For one thing these are concepts cars. Lowering the production model cars are the individual's choice. Also those concept cars are straped down onto the display which could give the car a lowered stance.
