The M has a better resale value not the GS.

Funny, I called Enterprise, and they don't carry Infiniti's period.

Hertz has the G35 but thats it.

The M still has the better resale value. I see your trying to make a stab again at Infiniti as usual.

I would have to say Lexus is barely holding a lead!

September for Infiniti M series... M45

2,351

And Lexus GS series..

Sales momentum remained strong with September sales of the GS 300, which posted sales of 2,357 units and an increase of 351.5 percent, while the GS 430 posted sales of 382 units, an increase of 360.2 percent.

Barely? (2357+382-2351)/2351x100%=16.5%, still a healthy lead I say.

KBB doesn't have info on the new GS yet, so you can't compare it yet

Yeah, thats why you couldn't get a used GS300 for the price of an used M45.

it's a tough call i never even considered looking at the M prior to my purchase of my GS and often times i get the urge to head over to the Infiniti dealer to check out the car to see what all the magazines were raving about. but at the end of the day, i'm glad i got my GS, driving in it just makes me feel good. As far as resale goes...well the resale of the M and GS is a lot better than the Audi brand that I just left hehe

There are no used M35/45 in the new body style. It's the new body style that has the better resale value. And the GS300/4 has already been rated for this new body compared to the new M.

My 2 cents.
I have been supporting the M45 everytime discussions of it come up. I still do. But a couple of says ago, I saw them together. A chance to let both sink in simultaneously. The GS has some style issues I don't like but it is a sweeter looking car. I have no appearance issues with the M45 but the GS just has that thing, the Lexus thing. The "look at me" thing. Without being ostentatious. I like that. If I didn't want people to notice I would drive a Honda. Some say the GS looks like a Maxima from the rear. I see the similar cues but it in no way is the same. On appearance, style and panache...I say the GS.

This doesn't mean I dislike the M45 at all. It has it's advantages...but a Lexus is a Lexus.

How the hell do you rate the resale value of a car that has been out for less than a year? Wait a few years down the row and see how they rate, right now it's way too early to say.

It's called "projected". Since the car hasn't even been out a year, we will see soon if it can hold up to the claim.

In other regions, they carry Infiniti. Here in the SoCal region, ERAC carries the G35 and FX35. Some carry the QX56 at certain locations. Hertz has a handful of G35's in their fleet. Funny but alot of them end up in the out of service maintenance line often due to customers always thrashing the living daylights out of them either broken interior pieces or the engine making weird noises.

I'm pretty sure the new M's resale will suck, since M is still in lower class than the Q, and an used Q can be had ridiculously cheap. Doubt anyone will be willing to pay more for the M.

Russell Zotz,

Fact is LEXUS GS > INFINITI M in sales because there are more Lexus GS300 sales than there are Infiniti M sales and there are more GS430 sales than there are M45 sales. Infiniti has yet to split the M sales figures just like the FX. That's not for just the M45. The M45 sales are only a fraction of that number. That's the truth. Deal with it. Lexus > Infiniti.
