Twelve cylinder strong Touareg with 450 HP

Sporty looks and dynamic performance with the highest comfort. With an extensive equipment package, the new Touareg W12 sport Edition is immediately available in Germany.

The centre piece of the new Touareg Special Edition is the powerful twelve cylinder engine: the 6.0 liter engine achieves 450 HP / 331 kW and a torque of 600 Nm. With that the Touareg accelerates in 5.9 seconds to 100 km/h and reaches an electronically limited maximum speed of 250 km/h. The power is transferred to the wheels with a six speed automatic Tiptronic transmission.

As the name already promises, the new Touareg Sport Edition displays its sporting character with the roof spoiler as well as the widened wheel arches and flares. In combination with the 20“ custom light metal wheel set "Casablanca“, the muscular character of the Touareg W12 Sport Edition is clearly set.

A silver colored roof luggage carrier, darkened rear and side windows and the bumpers in the vehicle color complete the sovereign impression of this car with standard sport spirit. The double exhaust pipes with sound designed exhaust system clarify the power both optically and acoustically.

The interior corresponds with the Touareg's sporty feeling but at the same time has high-value accents. The gracious leather Individual sport seats and the "Micropoint“ aluminum decoration shape the full optics of the interior. Standard on board are 2 zone climate control, radio-DVD-navigation system with colored multi functional display plus speaker system and CD changer as well as a mobile phone hands free kit.

Bi-xenon headlights with curve headlight and bending light function belong to the equipment package, as well as the steering column mounted Tiptronic shifting levers for manual control of the automatic transmission.

Like the predecessor Touareg W12 Sport, this special edition was developed by Volkswagen Individual GmbH. Besides the Sport Edition, Volkswagen Individual also offers the six-liter W12 engine for the Touareg W12 Executive, the discrete and elegant alternative to the new Sport Edition.

The new Touareg W12 Sport Edition is priced at €96,300 Euros and can be ordered in Germany immediately.

$115,000 for a Touareg... dont think so. But it looks pretty sweet. Lowered stance and big wheels makes it look hot.

apparently VW didn't learn their lesson with the Phaeton. It was a great automobile, but most people struggle with shelling out more than 30k on a car with a "VW" on the grille. I wonder how many potential Porsche buyers this will pull away... if any.

Germany is so different than most west European countries. I have collegues on Holland that tell me they are like Americans in some ways..drive bigger cars, live in bigger houses, and speak only in German when most other countries at least attempt to speak the native countries language they are visiting. The US has this "bigger is better" thinking, but Germany takes it to a a rediculous level. An over powered and over priced VW??? What are they thinking.

Is this the first production 12-cylinder SUV in the world? And I wondered why VW is in deep financial trouble.

I think it would be more attractive if VW puts that w12 in the new Audi Q7. But I wonder how much that would cost?

I have pretty much lost all faith in VW. They are ran by some of the dumbest people on this planet. They insist on moving in a VERY SATURATED market. They are LATE. On top of this its not like we are MISSING VW in the luxury market. Who really wants them there? Not consumers.

A bunch of morons. My goodness, you guys owns AUDI too. Why move VW up and up and up.

On top of that ther QUALITY SUCKS. So if I want an UNRELIABLE GERMAN LUXURY CAR, I'll most CERTAINLY pick a MERCEDES BENZ.

Gas is at an all time high and they make a damn W-12 SUV that can barely get under 6 seconds in the 0-60mph time.

Idiots.

For $106,855, you could get a Hennessey Venom twin turbo Ram SRT10. It makes 800 hp and 850 lb-ft torque. 0 to 60 in 4.4 and 1/4 mile in 12.4 @118. Plus a 2 yr warranty. It will haul a bunch of stuff and hall A@@ Only downside is about 6mpg

Well, so does this make the Touareg the only vehicle to come with a 6, 8, 10, and 12 cylinder engine from the factory? I can't think of anything else that does. Oh, and I like how it looks and the engine but that's about it.
