I used to be way into the 90's crown vics and caprices due to their enormous size and powerful engines. No need to post pics, you ALL know exactly what they look like. My ideal year for a vic was 92, cuz it was the first year for the overhead-cam V8 and no grill. Looked like a very big taurus.

Guys, remember, the jest of this is to tell us a car (if there was one) you wanted that would be considered a POS. But for some reason, YOU had a thing for that car

There were two reasons in that car for the small V6. First, it was an attempt to have an engine that would fit under the MX-3's small hood of this small coupe but yet be smoother-running than the 1.6 -1.8L in-line fours in the other small Mazdas of the period. Second, by introducing the 1.8L V6, Mazda marketers could advertise the smallest engine in the U.S. market with V6 smoothness, and possibly the smallest V6 on the planet. I reviewed and test-drove this car in the early 1990's ( 1992, if I remember ) and yes, it WAS smooth and quiet, but make no mistake.....that small displacement V6 was very low on torque until you got it above about 3500. Even the arch-rival Honda CRX, especially the Si, had a stronger feel at low-RPM's....and this from the notoriously low-torque Honda VTEC fours.

( Sorry, Mike.....didn't mean to get off-topic, but I wanted to explain to toy4two the reasons for his (or her ? ) disappointment. )

... I own a pair of these right now - my big brute of a Lincoln - 20 feet of American excess, and my 'Rolla 4x4 with styling that not even a mother could love (but with bulletproof reliability that can't be beat). I also have owned a Dodge Rampage and '84 Daytona Turbo, so I am no stranger to oddball cars. My current secret obsession is for a 4x4 Toyota Van from the 80's or early 90's.... If I can find a good one with a manual, I may have to find room for it. an early 60's Ford Econoline van would be great too, but I think lots of people kinda like these things. I love weird cars. Oh yeah - I owned a PT Cruiser for a while too, the novelty lasted for about 3 months then I swapped it for my LS

I wouldn't say they are necessarily oddball cars, Coffey....but they WERE poorly built with excessively cheap materials. I reviewed and test-drove a number of Omni / Horizon and K-Car based vehicles in the early 80's.....and owned a couple. These were the vehicles.....remember....that Lee Iacocca at the time was trying to hawk off on the public as "quality " designs.

I know - they were awful... Sadly, I really liked driving the Daytona - and I really don't know why. It wasn't fast, it was very trailer-park looking and it handled terribly - yet somehow I just loved it. Goofiest dash ever too, with the cross-hatching to give it a "hig-tech" look.. Straight out of Tron.

A 90's body style Vette. I knew good and well they were trouble (american car). Didn't care I still wanted one.
Couldn't help myself.

I like it I blew $20 in gas yesterday just raising hell

Only clear pic I really have is this one from when I bought it off the lot. I'll snap some tommorrow.

I wanted a Daewoo Leganza for a quick second, but jumped out when I got interested in the LS.

Before my days with a driver license I wanted a 91 mustang 5.0 and had the audio system planned out. LOL
