Default 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee or 05 Magnum

Guys,

04 Cherokee Freedom Edition, 4x4, V-6, 42k, black

or

05 Dodge Magnum SE, V-6, 18k, silver

Both costing the same - which would you choose for a daily driver?

Magnum. Lower miles, still under warranty, better gas mileage, probably just as much usuable space.

Unless you need the high ground clearance or the 4WD / AWD traction of the Cherokee, get the Magnum. It will steer, ride, brake, and handle better ( especially in corners, without the high-center of gravity tipsinesss of a Jeep ) , have a solid Mercedes chassis, burn less gas, and probably be more reliable in the long run.....Jeeps are notorious for needing major repairs as they age a little. The only real drawbacks to the Magnums are Peek-A-Boo rear windows and cheap hardware and switchgear.
And...if you need more traction, AWD versions of the Magnum are available....but you may not find many of them yet on the used-car market.

I recently did a review and test-drive of the 340-HP Hemi Magnum R / T, and while the engine, of course, is different, many of my other remarks would apply to your car.

Magnum hands down. That car really looks sweet in some color combos. I also came up behind one with monster rims on it the other day that looked awesome.

I would pick the V8 or wait for a V8 powered magnum. IMO the magnum isn't the same w/o the Hemi. That is just my $.02

Get the Grand Cherokee (WJ). The V6 is a very solid motor and all the problems they had in the early 99/00 WJ's were fixed by 04. You should get lots of good use out of the WJ.
