u know the funny thing is i was actually worried about leaving my company laptop and my suitcase and stuff on the sidewalk for fear that someone would take it. If i had just dropped the stuff, i could have ran a lot faster

Same thing happened to my 96 Accord. It only has 30,000 miles on it in 1998. It was night time and I doubled parked in the street to pick up my girlfriend from the train station. Suddenly smoke came from the passenger side by the headlight. The car caught on fire, and the Fire Dept had to put it out at the scene. Car was a total loss. I had those 80 watt superwhite light bulbs in it, and I think the draw was too much, thus caused the fire. I didn't tell the insurance company that though. I also had a dead battery 2 weeks prior to the fire, and had the Honda dealer put in a new one under warranty. The insurance company told me the cause of the fire was the battery. And the said the car was a total loss. Got 14,000 bucks for the value of the car and they sued the dealer. Did you have high wattage superwhite bulbs in your car?

Good point. I had not considered that in my answer. Anything that draws too much amperage for a given wire size risks causing a fire.
