Default 2009 Camaro?!?

Thoughts?

I found them on AutoWeek's forums, forums, but by the looks of the watermark I’m guessing they came from LS1TECH.com

Edit: Fixed pics.

Just because ford did it doesn't mean chevy has to.

Oh okay...so GM is pulling one of those "take pics down b4 we sue" thing(for good reason). Saw them on another site. Seems like these pics were very accurate(which is why they are all slowly being deleted). Exterior is retro with a nice moderm flair, rear is like a restyled Corvette, and the interior is rediculously retro as well, but very nice looking. CZ6 Chassis??

Will be unveiled next month at Detroit Auto Show.

I can see them and I think it looks hideous. Too much of that new charger/challenger/magnum styling - blocky for the sake of being blocky, abrupt edges and flares, etc... I like the front 10%, as soon as it hits the front fenders it's downhill from there.

True, but with the retro Mustang on the road now, and the retro Dodge Challenger likely within a couple of years, there's going to be at least some pressure for GM to get it's hand in the pie. A small but vocal body of F-Body Camaro and Firebird fans continue to b***h about GM dropping the last models in 2003. And Bob Lutz, unlike the bozos that preceeded him, actually listens to people.

First of all, the ORIGINAL Camaro was blocky, like most cars inthe 1960's....and this is obviously meant to be a retro design like the new Mustang and Dodge Challenger. Second, IMO we need more blocky designs today....too many vehicles look like jelly beans and humpback whales.

I love old muscle cars, but i think its a sign of weakness in the company to have to revert back to its roots.

Pics work for me, & I don't care for it , especially the back, looks very odd.

Well, yes and no. The "roots" that you refer to are the general body shape and little else. Unlike the original muscle cars, today's "retro" designs have electronic fuel injection and engine management, ABS, traction control, all-disc brakes, clearcoat paint, radial tires, air bags, sophisticated headlights, rack-and-pinion steering, far better suspensions, more non-metallic materials in them, are built to much more precise and closer tolerances on the assembly lines, get better gas mileage, and have much lower emissions. On the surface, it may LOOK like apples and apples, but underneath it is clearly apples and oranges.

Well I'll be the odd man out.... I like the look. The rear lights need work but the muscular stance suits my eye..

Maybe my wording was off - the original camaro's, while blocky, had lines which were much less abrupt. The entire design "flowed" better than this thing in that it looks like one fluid design from front to back. This looks like some kid took some lego's and slapped them together and called it a Camaro.

To each their own, I guess.

I agree with them going retro on this one, but I hope they give the TA a new design.

I think it looks awesome. I hope they make it, but please don't give us some lame retro interior like the Mustang did.

Chances are the interior will be retro as well.
