Yes...two good small sports coupes. The tC has what is IMO a better-done interior, and, of course, the supercharged engine that, while more-or-less similiar to the RSX's in HP, has more low-end torque. The RSX, while IMO a little more cheaply done inside, has one of the best FWD manual transmissions on the market and slightly more agile suspension, chassis, and steering systems. Both, given proper care, are likely to be quite reliable. The factory waranties, I'd say, are a tossup. The tC has Toyota's 5 / 60 drivetrain warranty but is only 3 / 36 bumper-to-bumper. The RSX has a longer ( 4 / 50 ) bumper-to-bumper warranty but does not cover the drivetrain ( where the most complex and expensive parts are located ) as long as Toyota.

One correction: the Acura website states that the RSX has a 6 year 70k mile drivetrain warranty. Thanks for all the responses thus far.

I'll 3rd or 4th the Highlander. My wife went from a '94 Civic to a highlander and was worried
about the size of the vehicle until I told her it is 4 inches shorter than my '97 ES.
We love the Highlander. Limited with everything and the ride is great, gas milage is pretty good and it's a nice size. We looked at a few RX's but the price difference was dramatic.
The main difference is the Highlander only has a power driver seat and does not have a memory seat setting.

If your willing to stretch the budget for an RSX Type S, you could try looking at a used Acura TSX. It's pretty fast, a great handler, not too big and it's got way more features than the RSX. Those xenon lights it comes with are to die for. Plus it's a lot more practical than driving a two-door.

P.S. since the Type S only comes in stick, if your fiance knows how to drive it then she's a keeper!!!
