06 Civic SI vs. 06 RSX
Hey guys, as some of you know.... my ES was retired and I was in the market for a new car. My initial choice was the 2006 Acura RSX. I had actually placed a down of $1,000 for them to order it. It was supposed to be in my garage on December 10. But.... something came up and only 3 RSXs came in and 6 people ordered! soooooooooo I was kinda mad and made a deal with the dealer. I told the operations manager that I want to possibly switch to the 06 Civic SI! He said no problem. It has more power, better handling, lsd, 6spd, whatever else... I admit the RSX looks way better, but the SI is growing on me. The only thing is..... it's still a Civic. A powerful one though.
btw I got quoted 22,500 for the base rsx, no leather.
I got the SI at 22,000.
what do you guys think?
oh yeah, I have to wait till March

Is Guam a case where you can't special order a car if you really want it? It seems like they should be able to get you an RSX before March, for crying out loud...

If they are available on Guam, go look at and test-drive a Scion tC with the dealer-installed, factory-approved supercharger before you decide on either a new Civic or the RSX.

There will also be no monkey buisness on tC pricing. Like Saturn's former policy, all Scions sell at list....no markups, no discounts, no incentives, no price-gouging. The only thing you negotiate on is the value of your trade-in....and possibly your financing interest rate.

I was the RSX owner and i dont mind getting one back anytime. I loved it and i am stilling loving it. I dont care what other people say about SI and i havent driven one yet but i doubt that it will be better than RSX-S. you gotta love K20A motors. they are happy rever.

If your looking for speed and handling get the Civic Si. There is no comparison in performance. Civic has 200 hp 6 speed vs the RSX with 160 hp 5 speed. If performance isn't such an issue, I would probably go for the RSX becuase the interior looks a lot better than the Civic. I cant stand the gauge design in the 06 Civic models. But you would be getting more car for your money with the Civic.

if you're comapring a base RSX to new SI then i would get and si, but if you had an option to get the type-S, then type-S hands down...
civic SI > base RSX
civic SI < RSX type-S
civic SI > base RSX
civic SI < RSX type-S

Thanks for the input guys.... I've been doing some research and even on RSX boards, SI > Base RSX. I would go with the RSX-S, but they are asking $27,000! talk about dealer markup!!

Though the interior takes getting used to, I actually like it. I like the usefulness of the hatch. I prefer the RSX looks. Both have mods galore. The RSX is tossable in the corners but nothing to make you grin
But Si TOTALLY ownsz a base RSX. That car really is GET THE Si!!!
