WHen I'm in the es and it doesn't look too busy, I'll do the valet. I'll usuallt give according to the service received. Excellent service gets up to $20. Poor service gets as low as nothing.

I liked Tokyo better, no tipping anywhere. Its insulting, or the thing that really got me was handing my yen to the cashier at McDonalds, they get all pissy. They just kept pointing to the plastic basket smiling and bowing, I'm like WTF, I just want to pay!
I finally figured it out, you put your money into the basket to pay and they take it from there. There is no touching in Tokyo, shaking hands is like 
They are germ freaks (actually very smart). If you are sick you wear a mask....buying beers out of Coke machines on every corner is cool, smoking in every single building gets old, MCDonalds is bad enough to eat without having to breathe smoke in 24/7... ok enough about the culture shock when I visitied Toyota over there. They put the gratuity into the bill. Thats how it should be.

I say depends on the places, probably $5 is alrite.
If ur car is stock, I don't see why not for valet.....even S500s goes valet. But for cars modified like mine, I would just go park at self parking if there is one, cuz I don't want to go home and find out bodykit scraped or even cracked, wheels' lips got scraped (this will really **** me off.) And then u'll have to go back to reason with them which most of the times u will just be even more frustrated & gettin into a dispute

My son was a valet in college. Some of the stories he told me were pretty frightening. He said he was literally the only one (out of 9 or 10) that wasn't drunk or high at work. They had him park all of the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc. because they were all too afraid of wrecking them. One of the days he was working, one of the valets backed a Viper into a Hummer and caused about $60k worth of damage. One of his managers also told him that if he found drugs in any of the cars to just take them

my good friends are managers for the hilton at anaheim and the one next to south coast plaza in newport beach. iono how other places run their ops but with his place they are pretty legit with the handling of customer's car. one thing he told me that really shunned me away is that the liability to the valet person is like 300 bucks if they wreck a car. so they can total any car they want and all that would happen to them is get fired if they did it on purpose and 300 bucks for the deductible. all my friends does is take pictures in them. sorry to run off topic. 3-5 bucks is pretty good considering how many cars per hour they return.
