Rich I owned an 00-M5 and was very pleased with the car. Sold it a few years back. I really never had any problems with that car. Minor electrical and rattle from my interior but thats about it. Great car in my opinion. Just have it checked out before buying it.

Thanks for the info guys. Seize those pics make me want to pick one up even more. With some simple mods and a nice set of wheels this car is beautiful. Chuck I did see that car on Autotrader. I have mostly been seeing 00-01s with about 35-45k miles going in the $35k range. I am sure there are better deals out there and I am in no rush to buy anything right now.

Default I have not had any major problems...regular maintenance...

Do your homework on what you get....I love mine, not an M5, but - e39 540i. Going to get a VF S/C -
stage 1 - 400 whp
stage 2 475 whp
Man, Seize that black one is gorgeous. The blue is very nice too, but I love how the wheels look on the black one. Yum

More info

Of course you can go a little above and beyond and add on a CF hood, amps, subs, TVs, etc. As an example, here are pics of one at a Lexus/BMW/Benz meet in NYC a couple years ago:

I like the CF hood but just want to keep this one simple. Maybe some DPE wheels and coilovers, depending how the car sits at stock height. Maybe a clean lip kit but nothing extreme. I like the blue one that Seize posted the most
