Possible New Skyline(G35) Coupe on Japanese Magazine Cover(new pics 1/8/06) (merged)

You're probably talking about the thread on the new GT-R concept, which will not have the Skyline name attached to it anymore.
The Skylines in Japan are the exact rebadged equivalent of the G35 here for a few years already.

There was a picture of the rear of that car too somewhere, let me see if I can find it.
Ah, here we are.
My take is I like it, and I like that the modifications to the design have been subtle - but I hate the clear rear lights and am not entirely crazy about the concave design under the side flare. I think I'd rather that flare be more subtle (think IS300 side flare), and I'd definitely like to see them use red rear lights. I do like the front and rear bumpers and think it'd look pretty sick with a widebody kit and tint.
One interesting thing is that the engine pictured is the rumor'd 3.7L V6 which should (and has been rumored to) put out about 330-340hp @ 6400rpm.
Cheers.

Actually, I think all it is showing is the next G35 generation / minor change. It has NOTHING to do with the GT-R, which is now completely separated from the Skyline lineage.
As you can see, the magazine cover states "New Spin of the NEW Skyline". Japanese car magazines now refer to the GT-R as simply "GT-R", not V35 GT-R anymore.

thats probably future face-lift plans for the g35...the skyline will be a complete entry on its own--cuz if they discontinue the g35 and put forth the skyline....major sales decrease=bad business moves
